Cal is a financial executive with 25 years experience in both multinational technology companies and fast-growth start-ups. He has a broad background in the full range of financial operations from strategic planning, debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, SEC registrations, successful IPOs and has raised $197M. He enjoys building companies and driving results.

At FLG, Cal has provided CFO leadership services to public companies including: TiVo, the revolutionary media center company; JDSU, a leading communications test and measurement solution and optical products multinational; Sigma Designs, the leading HD chipset provider; and Avanex, a leading network optical products multinational. Cal has also worked with venture-backed companies such as SolarCity, the nation’s leading solar installer, and Freeborders, the leader in software outsourcing from China.

Prior to FLG, Cal was CFO at Interwave Communications, a compact GSM and CDMA cellular systems multinational. He was responsible for driving its financial performance and negotiating the company’s sale, which resulted in a doubling of shareholder value. Before that, Cal was CFO for Phasecom, a venture-backed wireless cable modem and headend company. Cal was also CFO for Accom, a public digital video disk editing systems and virtual set company. Cal’s other experience includes financial executive positions at public companies Persistence Software, an application server and caching software company; ADAC Labs, the nuclear medical imaging and healthcare info systems company; and Valence Technology, an advanced lithium-polymer battery company. Earlier in his career, Cal was Audit / SEC Manager with Coopers&Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in its Silicon Valley and National offices.

Cal holds a BS in Business Administration (Accounting) from California State University, San Jose, and is a CPA (inactive) in California.
